Impacted Wisdom Teeth

If you notice throbbing pain in the back of the mouth, swelling around the jaw, and/or frequent headaches, Dr. Suzanne Haeri, DDS, has a question for you. Are your wisdom teeth still intact? Wisdom teeth can be disruptive to daily life, and when wisdom teeth are impacted, the patient will notice that symptoms will worsen as the condition develops. Though wisdom teeth extraction isn’t always necessary, removing them will prevent further complications.

Impacted wisdom teeth remain below the gum and don’t always erupt. If they choose to erupt, they may do so on an angle. This can cause damage to surrounding teeth, resulting in pain, and because they are hard to clean, they can increase a patient’s risk of infection. To determine if your wisdom teeth are developing normally, schedule a consultation with Dr. Suzanne Haeri, DDS to discuss questions or concerns.
