Intraoral Camera

At the dental practice of Dr. Suzanne Haeri, DDS we utilize the most recent tools in dental technology. During your routine exams, Dr. Haeri will need to inspect what goes on inside your mouth. To do this, she will use an intraoral camera. An intraoral camera allows Dr. Haeri to show you firsthand what condition your teeth are in as well as the status of your periodontal health.

The intraoral camera resembles an oversized pen and is used in tandem with a computer. It allows Dr. Haeri to look inside a patient’s mouth and capture images that can be taken from a variety of angles. Through the computer, Dr. Haeri can physically show you, if you have a fractured tooth, or if you need periodontal treatment. Unlike conventional X-rays that require processing time, there is no development time associated with an intraoral camera. It provides images that are immediate, saving you time in the dental chair.

Electric Handpieces

Updated technology is what allows us to provide our patients with the best care possible. One of the ways Dr. Suzanne Haeri, DDS has updated technology here in our Los Angeles, CA office is by using an electric handpiece.

Optimal health is always our goal for our patients, which means we need to be extending the best care we can. Using technology that allows us to perform procedures faster and more accurately saves our patients time and money. It allows us to properly diagnose conditions so that we can treat them accordingly. We keep this in mind, along with the safety of our patients when we choose to upgrade the technology in our dental practice.

One of the ways we have updated our technology is by using electric handpieces. Handpieces are what we use to drill out decay. In the past, air-driven handpieces were used. Air-driven handpieces were louder, they vibrated more, and they were slower. Electric handpieces allow us a smoother process for removing decay and allow us to perform the procedure quickly. The quieter sound is also better for patients who become nervous when they hear our equipment.

Benefits of Digital X-rays

There’s an X-ray technique that is utilized here at the dental practice of Dr. Suzanne Haeri, DDS and that is called Digital Imaging. Instead of developing film in a darkroom like most dental X-rays, these ones are sent directly to a computer and can be viewed on screen, stored, or printed out. There are several benefits to using this technology and we will discuss them here.

Within this imaging program, there are a number of tools that will allow Dr. Suzanne Haeri, DDS to take a very close look at the teeth and surrounding structures with amazing accuracy. The image captured, of a tooth, for example, can be enhanced and enlarged many times its actual size on the computer screen, making it easier for Dr. Suzanne Haeri, DDS to show you where and what the problem is. In addition, the technique also uses less radiation than the typical X-ray (about 80% less) and there is no wait time for the X-rays to develop – the images are available on a screen a few seconds after being taken.

The Intraoral Camera

As technology evolves, we like to evolve with it. Advancing the technology we use here in our office means more accurate diagnoses and treatment plans for our patients. One way Dr. Suzanne Haeri, DDS has advanced our Los Angeles, CA dental practice is by implementing an intraoral camera.

An intraoral camera is a revolutionary piece of equipment that allows us to take a closer look than ever before. Within a pen-like device is a camera that can go into our patients’ mouths and take pictures. We can use this as a live video feed to show our patients what we are looking at or we can take pictures to save for the future. Since this is all digital, we are able to save those pictures to instantly reference in future visits, as well as send the pictures home with the patient. This helps our patients keep a better eye on their condition so they can report any noticeable changes to us. We can also send the images to other doctors or insurance companies instantly.

The real health benefit of an intraoral camera is how close it allows us to get. We are now able to see up close areas in the mouth that were difficult to see before. This helps Dr. Haeri more accurately diagnose a condition.

Changing technology helps us better our office and the health of our patients. To learn more about the technology we use here in our Los Angeles, CA office, visit our website, www.suzannehaeridds.com. To schedule an appointment with Dr. Suzanne Haeri, DDS, call us at (310) 657-2200.
