Veneers

If you’re unhappy with your smile, there is no reason you can’t change it! Dental veneers reshape your entire mouth to your liking. They are made of thin, durable porcelain placed over your natural teeth. Say goodbye to stained, broken, chipped, or gapped teeth! Suzanne Haeri DDS in Los Angeles, CA offers veneers to our patients. To learn more, contact our office in Los Angeles, CA.

The entire veneer process takes between 2-3 appointments. The first is more of a consultation. You can ask any questions you have about the process while learning more. If you decide to go forward with veneers, you start making your aesthetic choices.

There are many options and variables for your veneers. The shape is the first major choice. Veneers are either rounded or square. Female patients usually prefer the rounded option while men go for the square. Your Los Angeles, CA, dentist is happy with whatever shape you pick, regardless of gender. The next choice is the shade of the veneers. You can pick anywhere from a natural white to Hollywood-level brightness! The decision is yours.

Next, we prepare and measure your teeth. The teeth are smoothed down to make the application of the veneers easier. We then create an impression of your teeth. This goes to a dental laboratory to create your customized veneers. It will take about 10-14 days for their creation and delivery. In the meantime, you’ll receive temporary veneers. At your final appointment, the veneers bond to your teeth.

Never settle for anything less than the best when it comes to your smile! Suzanne Haeri DDS practices at 1100 S La Cienega Blvd. in Los Angeles, CA 90035. For more information or to schedule an appointment, please visit suzannehaeridds.com or call 310-657-2200.

Fluorosis

Do your child’s teeth look different? White spots or pits? Your child may have fluorosis, a condition that’s caused by increased fluoride exposure while the teeth are growing into permanent molars. Located in Los Angeles, CA, Dr. Suzanne Haeri treats a variety of dental conditions, including fluorosis.

Cause

Fluorosis is caused by overexposure of fluoride on your child’s teeth during the first eight years of their life.

Fluoride is a natural ingredient present in products like toothpaste, water, soda, juice, and mouthwash. Your Los Angeles, CA dentist rounded up some tips for limiting fluoride intake:

-Avoid soda and juice.

-Use a toothpaste amount no smaller than a grain of rice for children under age three. For older children apply a pea-size amount.

-Fluoride levels in water normally don’t affect teeth. If your community’s water source contains high amounts of fluoride, consider other water sources like bottled water.

-Keep mouthwash away from children under the age of six.

Symptoms

-Yellow or dark brown discoloration

-White pits or spots

-Ridges around the teeth

Although fluorosis has no serious oral health effects, symptoms are permanent without treatment. For some patients, the changes in appearance are a source of shame or loss of confidence.

Treatment

We offer a variety of cosmetic treatments for both adults and children who have fluorosis at our Los Angeles, CA office:

-Teeth whitening and bleaching

-Crowns

-Veneers and Lumineers

-Bonding

6 Tips to Improve Your Smile

Your smile is key to making a good first impression. That’s why Dr. Suzanne Haeri is passionate about improving her patients’ smiles at her Los Angeles, CA office one mouth at a time. Here are six ways to transform your smile today!

Proper Hygiene

Regularly flossing and brushing your teeth is a no-brainer for keeping your smile beautiful and healthy. Without proper care, your molars will rot and decay. Invest in a good quality toothbrush for use twice a day. Try to rinse your mouth with water after every meal to remove any lingering debris in your molars. Forming good habits like this will take you far in achieving the pearly smile you dream of!

Eating Healthy
It’s no secret that sugary drinks and junk food have a big impact on your teeth. If you want a beautiful smile, its best to stay away from unhealthy foods. A little candy or soft drink is fine here and there, but don’t let your sugar tooth run loose.  Too much sugar results in everything to avoid for a pretty smile: cavities, tooth decay, enamel, and gum erosion, and much more.

Avoid Foods That Stain
Coffee, red wine, and even tomatoes are just some of the many foods that stain your natural teeth hue. But, you don’t have to ditch the drink right away. Instead, opt for a straw when you sip and rinse after consuming.

Teeth Whitening and Bleaching
Some teeth stains are unavoidable and that’s where your Los Angeles, CA dentist comes in. To return your teeth to their natural color, we offer teeth whitening trays to use in the comfort of your own home. First, we’ll make an impression of your teeth. Then we’ll send you off with a custom whitening tray and gel to apply after the process is complete. For whitening your teeth beyond their natural color,  Dr. Haeri recommends bleaching which can be done at our LA office.

Braces

Do you have gaps or crooked teeth? Braces are a great way to fix this issue all while drastically altering your smile for the better.

Veneers and Lumineers
Veneers and Lumineers are great options for people interested in changing their smiles. Made of porcelain, veneers are thin casings of ceramic that bond to the front of discolored or crooked teeth. Unlike traditional veneers, Lumineers don’t involve anesthesia.

SNAP Cosmetic Simulation Software

Dr. Suzanne Haeri has been practicing dental surgery for over twenty-five years. She prides herself on keeping up with current dental treatments, technologies, and continuing education courses. Dr. Haeri realizes that each patient is unique, which is why she offers different treatment options in an effort to find what suits her patients best. At her Los Angeles, CA practice, she is excited to offer SNAP Cosmetic Simulation Software to her patients.

Dental professionals now have the ability to give patients an “instant digital makeover” with SNAP. Patients know what they look like before a procedure, but it’s not until after the procedure is completed or when the mouth is fully healed that a patient sees the “after.” With the click of a button and SNAP’s special software, SNAP gives the patient a simulated version of their post-procedure smile. Dr. Haeri compares the before and after photos and points out the differences a procedure can make on your smile.

SNAP can be used as a before and after device for procedures like:

- Bridge implants

- Bonding

- Crowns and veneers

- Whitening

Cracked Teeth

As a dental practice that specializes in cosmetics, we at Dr. Suzanne Haeri’s South Carthay office have restored a lot of teeth with minor cracks and chips. But we also take good care of patients who have a more serious injury. We hope that our patients wear mouthguards when playing contact sports or doing anything dangerous, but if they do break a tooth, we can probably fix it.

Our molars are the only teeth that should be used for chewing. They have multiple roots and wide surfaces to distribute the force of a patient’s bite. The smaller teeth are vulnerable to breaking or tilting when they are repeatedly subjected to force. But even the molars can crack against something harder, such as ice. If a patient breaks a tooth, they should rinse their mouth with warm salt water. For their safety, they should cover the crack or chip with orthodontic wax or sugar-free gum.

We offer a vast array of restorative services. Small cracks in the surface of the front teeth can be covered with veneers, and minor chips may be repairable with bonding. If a molar is broken, we may fabricate a partial crown to fill in the crack or replace a missing cusp. But if a tooth is cracked down to the pulp, we may need to do a root canal procedure to protect against infection. When teeth are broken all the way down to the root, they need to be replaced. In those cases, we offer implants and partial dentures and will discuss a patient’s options after relieving their pain. We also offer Snap-On Smiles for patients who have widespread chipping and discoloration.

Lumineers

Whether your teeth are discolored, chipped or moderately crooked, Lumineers is a likely solution. With advancements in technology, Lumineers are digitally designed to be as thin as a contact lens so they can be applied seamlessly over your teeth to deliver a natural looking smile. The minimally invasive Lumineers technique that Dr. Suzanne Haeri, DDS offers to patients typically eliminates the need for shots or temporaries, so while waiting for your custom-made Lumineers, patients will look and feel great.

The Lumineers process takes only two visits to the dentist and the placement of Lumineers on the second visit takes, on average, about an hour. After your first initial consultation, Dr. Suzanne Haeri, DDS will take an impression of your upper and lower teeth, and send the mold to an authorized Lumineers laboratory along with photos and other records that ensure the very best treatment for you. On your second visit, one of our doctors will place your Lumineers by bonding them in place to ensure a good fit and give patients the smile they have always wanted.

If you have questions or concerns regarding cosmetic or restorative dentistry, please give us a call. Causes of Gapped Teeth

We’re happy to help patients with all sorts of dental cosmetic problems at Dr. Suzanne Haeri’s South Carthay practice. Among the most common problems patients seek help for are gaps between the front teeth. Also known as diastemas, gaps between the upper incisors can have several causes, some of which also require treatment.

There are a few options for closing the gap. Among our offerings are Lumineers, the extremely thin brand of veneers that reshape the fronts of a patient’s teeth and are available on the same day as the appointment. We also supply Snap-On Smiles, which are oral devices that slide over teeth instead of being permanently fixed to them. However, Dr. Haeri will need to examine the patient’s mouth and inquire about their habits before deciding upon a treatment plan. Sometimes, a diastema is caused by an overly thick labial frenum, which is the strip of tissue on the inside of a person’s lip. It may be blocking the teeth from closing together. Alternatively, a patient habit such as tongue thrusting may be pushing the teeth apart. Resolving this may require the assistance of a psychological counselor or of an ear, nose, and throat doctor if the problem is related to swallowing or breathing.

Suzanne Haeri, DDS, is located at 1100 S. La Cienega Blvd., Los Angeles, California, 90035. To set up an appointment, call 310-647-2200 or visit Suzanne Haeri DDS and fill out a request.

Intrinsic Stains

As an expert in cosmetic dentistry, Dr. Suzanne Haeri offers safe, effective, and fast teeth whitening. But although bleaching is a valuable tool for combatting stains on the outside of teeth, there are some stains that may be too deep for it to reach. These are intrinsic stains, and they require a different approach.

Intrinsic stains have two causes: absorption of dark molecules during the tooth’s formation, and inflammation. The molecules are usually from tetracycline antibiotics or too much fluoride. Neither of these is harmful and the affected teeth can be covered with veneers. But when a tooth suffers trauma or infection, the patient is at risk. Dental infections will not get better on their own, and they cause severe tooth aches and can progress to the point of endangering the patient’s life. A root canal is necessary to remove the infected matter and the tooth can be reshaped or concealed afterward. Depending on how much material is removed, a new, natural-colored crown may be needed.

Suzanne Haeri, DDS, is located at 1100 S. La Cienega Blvd., Los Angeles, California, 90035. To set up an appointment, call 310-647-2200 or visit SuzanneHaeriDDS.com and fill out a request.

Cosmetic Dentistry Options

Cosmetic dentistry has been around for a long time. This is because one of the first things a person notices about you is your smile. So many people want to be able to flash a smile they are proud of. Dr. Suzanne Haeri, DDS offers several cosmetic dentistry options here in our Los Angeles, CA office.

Take a look at some of the cosmetic options here at our office:

  • Veneers- A ceramic shell that is bonded to your existing teeth. Can improve the look of almost any dental imperfection. They are durable and can last up to 10 years.

  • Lumineers- Similar to the veneer, but no prep work is needed to be done to the tooth. They can also last for over 20 years.

  • Whitening- We have several whitening options to utilize, depending on the patient. We can perform whitening in as little as one hour in our office or give you a professional at-home kit.

  • Snap-On Smile- This is a removable mouthpiece created just for you. They give you a perfect smile in a snap. Plus, you can take them out when sleeping or playing sports.

  • Bonding- For gaps, cracks, misshapen teeth, discoloration, and much more, we can utilize dental bonding. This is the process of shaping tooth-colored composite resin to your tooth for a natural improvement.
