Lumineers

Dr. Suzanne Haeri is a cosmetic and general dentist located in Los Angeles, CA. She can help you keep your teeth both looking good and clean! One of the services she provides is Lumineers. Lumineers are very similar to veneers with one major difference: lumineers require no preparation beforehand! That means you will walk out of our office with brand new teeth. These ultra-thin shells are placed on your teeth easily with zero discomforts. Talk to our office today to set up your appointment.

You should never be embarrassed about your teeth and smile. That’s why we offer lumineers at our office in Los Angeles, CA. These correct dental issues like stained, gapped, crooked, chipped, and misshapen teeth. The entire process is very quick. Your dentist takes a mold of your top and bottom teeth. This creates your customized lumineers. Unlike with veneers, you won’t need temporary devices, drilling, or shots.

At your appointment with Dr. Haeri, you’ll test out the lumineers after their creation. Try them on to make sure they fit and match your standards. If you like them, we’ll apply them to your teeth right away.

Lumineers come with many great benefits. The biggest is the vast improvement in the appearance of your teeth. They are also much quicker and more efficient than veneers. When you start the process of veneers, your natural teeth require basic reshaping. That’s not an issue with veneers. No part of your natural teeth requires manipulation. Lumineers are placed right onto the enamel to guarantee their security.

If you’re considering making a change in your smile, talk to your Los Angeles, CA, dentist about Lumineers. They are an efficient and easy way to achieve a beautiful smile. To learn more about Dr. Suzanne Haeri and her services, call 310-657-2200 or visit https://www.suzannehaeridds.com/.

Inlays and Onlays

Suzanne Haeri DDS in Los Angeles, CA, is committed to making sure you have a smile that you can be proud of, which is why she offers cosmetic dentistry services to help rebuild your smile. Dental inlays are used to replace a small portion of a tooth that is missing, which is similar to how fillings are used, only now inlays are made of tooth-colored ceramic or porcelain instead of gold. Inlays fit inside the tooth and undergo a bonding process that improves the overall strength of the tooth. Like inlays, dental onlays also fit inside the tooth except they extend to the chewing surface at the back of the tooth to replace a missing cusp. Onlays were also made of gold, undergoing a similar bonding process.

The procedure begins by removing the decayed material from the tooth. A mold is then taken and sent to the lab to create the inlay or onlay. It takes about two to three weeks for the inlay or onlay to be made, so in the meantime, a temporary inlay or onlay is placed on the tooth. When the process of making the inlay or outlay is completed, it is set on the tooth with cement.

Prevention is the best way to avoid sitting under the drill. Regular flossing and brushing will decrease the chances of needing these procedures done since cavities and tooth decay are at the root of these issues.

Are you interested in learning more about the inlay and onlay procedure? We are happy to address any questions or concerns you have. Suzanne Haeri DDS practices at 1100 S La Cienega Blvd. in Los Angeles, CA 90035. For more information or to schedule an appointment, please visit suzannehaeridds.com or call 310-657-2200.

Dental Dentures

Dr. Suzanne Haeri prides herself on helping patients achieve the best, confidence-boosting smile they can get. For patients with missing teeth, she offers both full and partial dentures. Dental dentures are designed to replace missing teeth as well as the surrounding tissues. They are custom made, removable, and significantly improve the function and appearance of your smile. You can even eat and sleep with them! Dr. Haeri will ensure that your new dentures fit your mouth properly and comfortably.

Full dentures are either “conventional” or “immediate.” Conventional dentures are made after the teeth have been completely removed from the gum tissue and the healing process has had a chance to begin. After that time, this type of full denture is placed in the mouth for eight to twelve weeks. Immediate dentures are made in advance and can be positioned as soon as the teeth are removed. This is a great alternative to conventional dentures because the wearer doesn’t have to go without teeth during the healing process. Partial dentures are also removable and are used when one or more teeth remain in the upper or lower jaw. This type of denture requires crowns on the teeth on either side of the space to attach artificial teeth and a cemented-in bridge. Partial dentures fill in the open spaces so that the remaining teeth cannot shift and appears more natural-looking than full dentures.

Other benefits of full and partial dentures include:

- Facial muscle support

- Allows patients to eat food they couldn’t eat without teeth

- Improves the ability to chew, eat, and speak

- Improves appearance and smile

- Improves self-esteem and confidence

Suzanne Haeri DDS practices at 1100 S La Cienega Blvd. in Los Angeles, CA 90035. For more information or to schedule an appointment, please visit suzannehaeridds.com or call 310-657-2200.

Dental Veneers

Dental veneers are thin durable shells made of porcelain that are bonded onto your natural teeth. Veneers are used to correct problems like cracked, stained, chipped, gapped, or broken teeth. Dr. Suzanne Haeri DDS understands how important your smile is. You’re going to have your smile the rest of your life, you might as well enjoy it! That’s why we offer porcelain veneers for our patients.

It will take 2-3 appointments with Dr. Haeri at her office in Los Angeles, CA. to complete the entire process. Your first appointment is more of a consultation than appointment. There are many different choices that come with choosing your veneers. This is why it’s recommended that you do some research individually beforehand. The major two are coloring and shape. There are two kinds of shaping, square and rounded. Many patients believe that rounded veneers are more feminine, while the square is more masculine. This is not true at all. Both shapes are available regardless of gender. The coloring is the shading of the veneers. You can choose from brightness starting at natural all the way to Hollywood levels.

Once you are happy with your decisions, the next part of the process can start. First, your teeth will be prepared and cleaned. We will then take an impression or mold of your teeth. This is then sent to a dental laboratory to create your customized veneers. The personalization assures that they will fit you perfectly. It will take about fourteen days for them to be created. In the meantime, you will be given temporary veneers. When the permanent veneers come back in, you will come in for your final appointment. They will then be bonded to your teeth.

Lumineers

Whether your teeth are discolored, chipped or moderately crooked, Lumineers is a likely solution. With advancements in technology, Lumineers are digitally designed to be as thin as a contact lens so they can be applied seamlessly over your teeth to deliver a natural looking smile. The minimally invasive Lumineers technique that Dr. Suzanne Haeri, DDS offers to patients typically eliminates the need for shots or temporaries, so while waiting for your custom-made Lumineers, patients will look and feel great.

The Lumineers process takes only two visits to the dentist and the placement of Lumineers on the second visit takes, on average, about an hour. After your first initial consultation, Dr. Suzanne Haeri, DDS will take an impression of your upper and lower teeth, and send the mold to an authorized Lumineers laboratory along with photos and other records that ensure the very best treatment for you. On your second visit, one of our doctors will place your Lumineers by bonding them in place to ensure a good fit and give patients the smile they have always wanted.

Snap-On Smile

There are many ways to improve your smile, including veneers and dental implants. However, these options don’t fit into everyone’s budget. If you're searching for ways to repair your smile without the price tag, you can make your dream a reality with Snap-On Smile. A Snap-On Smile is thin but strong and mimics the look of real teeth. Dr. Suzanne Haeri, DDS can discuss this restorative option with patients during a consultation.

Snap-On Smile fits over your existing teeth. As the name implies, they're simply snapped over your real teeth for a totally reversible smile. You just pick the style and shade of the teeth, while Dr. Haeri takes impressions to create the ideal fit. Snap-On Smiles are created from a lightweight but durable resin. In three weeks, you'll leave the office with a confident smile. It just takes two visits, and no shots, chemicals or drilling are required.

Inlays and Onlays

Inlays and Onlays are often referred to as partial crowns. Also known as indirect fillings, inlays and onlays offer a well-fitting stronger, longer-lasting reparative solution to tooth decay or structural damage. At the office of Dr. Suzanne Haeri, DDS inlays or onlays can be made of gold, composite resin (plastic) or ceramics that will last for 10 years or longer depending on the material used and how well they are maintained.

Inlays and onlays are fabricated indirectly in a dental lab before being fitted and bonded to the damaged tooth by Dr. Haeri. This process begins with a mold of the tooth being taken and sent to a dental lab where they create a restoration made from porcelain, gold, or a composite resin. The restoration takes about 2-3 weeks to make, so a temporary inlay or onlay will be placed on the tooth for that time. During the second visit, the inlay or onlay will be placed into the mouth and set with cement. The tooth will look natural and the patient won't be able to tell the difference.

If you think you may benefit from inlays and onlays, please give us a call. To learn more about the services we provide at the practice, visit www.suzannehaeridds.com for more information. To schedule an appointment with Dr. Suzanne Haeri, DDS in Los Angeles, CA, call 310-657-2200.

Teeth Whitening

Dr. Suzanne Haeri knows patients always want to present their brightest and whitest smile.  Many ask the doctor and his staff about over the counter products, and have tried them with underwhelming results.  Instead of winging it with retail products, come see us for a consultation and get your own custom whitening system!

During a consultation, your dentist will examine the level of staining on your teeth and be able to tell you what kind of results you can expect from the whitening system. To whiten your teeth at home, you will be fit with custom whitening trays made from molds of your teeth.  For a treatment, apply the whitening gel directly onto the trays and fit them over your teeth.  Your dentist will advise how often you should treat at home and how long each treatment can last.  Following dentist’s instructions, patients have seen this system whiten their smiles 4-8 shades!

Reasons for Filling Failure

Since we make a particular point of helping patients maintain their cosmetic care, we at Dr. Suzanne Haeri’s South Carthay dental office have followed developments in new technology for fillings. Some recently published research will help us to better understand why fillings fail and what technology provides superior results.

The new research examined smokers of both sexes and found that they had a much higher chance of early filling failure than non-smokers. It also found that men who drank alcohol had a higher risk of filling failure than those who did not. Another risk factor that was somewhat surprising was that filling failure tends to run in families, suggesting a genetic component. For these patients, regular dental check-ups are especially important.

The study’s most encouraging finding was that white fillings work just as well as amalgam ones. Unlike the old silver and mercury fillings, white fillings blend in with the patient’s teeth and avoid the issue of discomfort from temperature which sometimes occurs with metal. At Dr. Haeri’s office, we’ll work with you to ensure that your teeth are the shade you want them and that your fillings will be well-kept and aesthetically pleasing.

Teeth Whitening

At the dental office of Dr. Suzanne Haeri, DDS, the doctor and her staff are always getting questions from patients about teeth whitening.  Everyone likes to make a great impression with a nice smile and we are excited to offer an at-home whitening option to patients with serious staining to the teeth, and those with minor stains who want to achieve a dazzling white smile!

A consultation can help you determine how severe your stains are and what kind of results you can expect from a whitening treatment.  To whiten your teeth at home, we outfit patients with whitening gel and a set of custom trays for application.  A dentist takes an impression of your teeth, and from this impression two custom trays are made for your top and bottom teeth.

The trays are made for you to take home and use by applying gel to the trays and then fitting them over your teeth. The dentist’s recommendation of how often to treat and how long each treatment should last may vary.  When following the dentist’s recommendations, most patients see results of teeth whitening 4-8 shades.

Dental Bonding Breakage

If you’ve had dental bonding applied to your teeth, you’ll notice that it’s similar to tooth enamel; however, it’s not as strong. Dental bonding is made of a composite resin material that is made to match the color of a person’s tooth. It repairs chips, cracks, and fractures in teeth and can have your smile back to new in no time. Dr. Suzanne Haeri, DDS encourages patients to visit her office if dental bonding feels out of the ordinary.

If dental bonding feels out of place, or like it’s about to crack, visit our office immediately. Dental bonding can lose its strength if a person practices poor oral hygiene habits and/or if they eat a lot of acidic foods. Dental bonding can be replaced, but it’s possible that Dr. Haeri may suggest a dental crown, as this is more durable and stands the test of time.

If you have questions about dental bonding, please give us a call. To learn more about dental hygiene as well as other services we provide, visit www.suzannehaeridds.com for more information. To schedule an appointment with Dr. Suzanne Haeri DDS in Los Angeles, CA, call 310-657-2200.

Receding Gums

People commonly seek help from cosmetic dentists for receding gums. Exposed tooth roots not only look unattractive to most people, they also are very sensitive. But people may not have known that receded gums are usually the result of periodontal disease. If Dr. Haeri determines that is the case, there are some interventions she may recommend which vary in intensity depending on the severity of the gum loss.

Teeth are surrounded by gum pockets which are supposed to secure them snugly. But there is always room for some bacteria and plaque in the space between the gum and the tooth root, and if healthy tissues are being eroded by acid, that space will only get larger. More plaque-causing bacteria fill the void, accelerating the decay process.

At a normal deep cleaning, Dr. Haeri or a hygienist will remove the bacteria colonies, but the problem remains of what to do with the enlarged pocket and exposed roots. Sometimes a simple incision can be made into healthy gum tissue, which is then folded and sutured to cover the roots. This can be done under local anesthetic. Serious cases might require the consultation of a specialist in gum grafts. There is no shortage of strategies for fixing receded gums, but patients should maintain regular oral hygiene to improve their chances of avoiding the trouble.

The practice of Suzanne Haeri, DDS, is located at 1100 S. La Cienega Blvd., Los Angeles, California, 90035. To set up an appointment, call 310-647-2200 or visit SuzanneHaeriDDS.com and fill out a request.

Types of Dentures

Dr. Suzanne Haeri, DDS offers a wide variety of restorative options for missing teeth, but here we are going to discuss the benefits of dentures. For people who have lost their teeth due to gum disease, tooth decay, or injury, dentures can restore their smile and help them with everyday tasks such as eating and speaking. There are two main types of dentures: full and partial. Dr. Suzanne Haeri, DDS will help you choose the type of denture that’s best for you based on how many teeth are going to be replaced.

Complete (full) dentures are used if you’re missing teeth in your upper (maxillary) or lower (mandibular) jaws. Partial dentures are used on patients who only have some teeth missing on either jaw. Complete dentures replace all of the teeth, while partial dentures fill in the spaces created by missing teeth and prevent other teeth from shifting position. Your dentures may feel awkward for a few weeks until you become accustomed to them, however, you will decrease your risk of periodontal disease as well as ease the stress of your jaw while wearing them.

If you have missing teeth, give us a call to discuss your treatment options. To learn about the services we provide at our practice, visit www.suzannehaeridds.com for more information. To schedule an appointment with Dr. Suzanne Haeri, DDS herself in our Los Angeles, CA office, call 310-657-2200.

Cosmetic Dentistry Options

Cosmetic dentistry has been around for a long time. This is because one of the first things a person notices about you is your smile. So many people want to be able to flash a smile they are proud of. Dr. Suzanne Haeri, DDS offers several cosmetic dentistry options here in our Los Angeles, CA office.

Take a look at some of the cosmetic options here at our office:

  • Veneers- A ceramic shell that is bonded to your existing teeth. Can improve the look of almost any dental imperfection. They are durable and can last up to 10 years.

  • Lumineers- Similar to the veneer, but no prep work is needed to be done to the tooth. They can also last for over 20 years.

  • Whitening- We have several whitening options to utilize, depending on the patient. We can perform whitening in as little as one hour in our office or give you a professional at-home kit.

  • Snap-On Smile- This is a removable mouthpiece created just for you. They give you a perfect smile in a snap. Plus, you can take them out when sleeping or playing sports.

  • Bonding- For gaps, cracks, misshapen teeth, discoloration, and much more, we can utilize dental bonding. This is the process of shaping tooth-colored composite resin to your tooth for a natural improvement.

Advantages of Teeth Whitening

How many of us get a confidence boost when a stranger gives us a compliment? Have you ever paid attention to how much of a positive effect this has on your self-esteem? The same feeling can come from teeth whitening. Teeth-whitening is an excellent way to restore the natural color of your teeth or even make them whiter than your natural color if you would like. Here in Los Angeles, CA, Dr. Suzanne Haeri, DDS can help you do just that.

With all of the lifestyle habits and environmental factors that have the ability to stain our teeth on a daily basis, even proper maintenance sometimes leave them a little dull. Fortunately, through our whitening system, your pearly whites can revive their shine. In addition, teeth-whitening can also take years off of your appearance. This is because as we age, over time, our teeth darken and can become yellow, brown, or even develop a green or gray tint (which may be due to heredity and/or eating habits). Your smile speaks volumes about who you are and leaves an everlasting impression, so it’s only natural that you want it to be as radiant as possible.

If you would like to discuss your teeth whitening options, please give us a call.  To learn about the services we provide at our practice, visit www.suzannehaeridds.com for more information. Benefits of a Bright Smile

Teeth stain for many reasons, including your food and drink choices, oral hygiene, and medication use. Teeth stain occurs on the surface of the tooth (extrinsic stains) or below the tooth enamel (intrinsic stains) and some people develop both types. Keeping our teeth their whitest is a lot harder than it sounds which is why Dr. Suzanne Haeri, DDS offers a teeth whitening service that can provide you with life-changing benefits.

Let’s face it, not all of us are gifted with a perfect set of teeth that sparkle from their whiteness. Not only does being able to show the world your pearly whites give you more self-confidence, but it projects an outward appearance of healthiness that others are attracted to. Whiter teeth are associated with a healthier lifestyle – when people have a brighter smile, they tend to smile more often and are less self-conscious while interacting with people. In addition, one of the biggest advantages of teeth whitening is that it does not have any harmful side effects on your teeth.

If you think you may benefit from teeth whitening services, please give us a call to discuss your treatment options. To learn about the services we provide at our practice, visit www.suzannehaeridds.com for more information. What is a General Dentist?

General dentists are the primary dental care providers for patients of all ages. They can treat you and your entire family and care for your overall health. Dentistry is defined as the evaluation, diagnosis, prevention and/or treatment (nonsurgical or related procedures) of diseases, disorders and/or conditions of the oral cavity, maxillofacial area and/or the adjacent and associated structures and their impact on the human body. When looking for exceptional and quality general dentistry services, look no further than the practice of Dr. Suzanne Haeri, DDS in Los Angeles, CA.

Instead of specializing in just one area of dentistry, general dentists, such as Dr. Suzanne Haeri, DDS provide plenty of different services for you and your family, such as: cosmetic procedures, crowns and bridges, dental implants, dentures, gum disease treatment, home care instruction, root canal therapy, teeth cleanings and many more.

To learn about the services we provide at our practice, visit www.suzannehaeridds.com for more information. To schedule an appointment with Dr. Suzanne Haeri, DDS in our Los Angeles, CA office, call 310-657-2200.

Cavity Causes

Dental cavities are common, affecting over 90 percent of the population. As much as we love to see you at the dental practice of Dr. Suzanne Haeri, DDS our staff would rather you prevent them altogether. The number of cavities can be reduced by proper nutrition, excellent oral hygiene, few snacks in between meals, the use of oral or topical fluorides, and topical sealants. But where do they come from if you are already receiving one or more of the above?

Cavity-causing bacteria in the mouth consume simple sugars, converting them into acid plaque. Acid plaque is different from the periodontal plaque that causes gum disease. The reason is that acid plaque produced by these bacteria cause the hard inorganic layers of the enamel and dentin to soften. The softened layers are then dissolved by saliva, leaving a hole (cavity) in the tooth. Small cavities may go unnoticed, but the larger cavities can collect food, and the inner pulp of the affected tooth can become irritated by toxins and cause a severe toothache.

If you suspect you have a cavity, please give us a call. To learn about the services we provide at our practice, visit www.suzannehaeridds.com for more information. To schedule an appointment with Dr. Suzanne Haeri, DDS herself in our Los Angeles, CA office, call 310-657-2200.

Show Off Your Smile

At the dental practice of Dr. Suzanne Haeri, our staff always wants you to be ready to smile for the camera, but sometimes our smile needs a bit of work or repair. If you need a confidence boost because your smile isn’t the one you dreamed of, we have plenty of cosmetic treatment options for you to choose from. However, if there is any reason you can’t go the cosmetic route at this moment, we thought we’d share these tips that will help you show off the photogenic smile that we’re confident you already have.

  • Be natural – when it’s picture time, smile gently. That way, your face looks relaxed. Your mouth opens slightly, and your lower lip matches the curve of your upper teeth.

  • Check your teeth and gums – getting your smile camera-ready sometimes calls for a little behind the scenes prep work. If your pearly whites have yellowed with age, try an over-the-counter whitening product or pay us a visit! Also, don’t forget about taking care of your gums. They play a critical role in your nice smile. So keep them in good shape by brushing, flossing, and rinsing with a mouthwash every day.

  • Practice – your perfect smile may not happen overnight, but if you have a big photo event like a wedding or a graduation coming up, it doesn’t hurt to try out your grin in front of the mirror!

If you wish to enhance the appearance of your smile, please give us a call. To learn about the services we provide at our practice, visit www.suzannehaeridds.com for more information. To schedule an appointment with Dr. Suzanne Haeri, DDS herself in our Los Angeles, CA office, call 310-657-2200.
